The Jackets twice came back from 2-goal deficits to beat the Leafs on Friday night. The Blue Jackets never quit playing, even when they easily could've packed it in, in the second when Toronto went up 4-2. But instead, they fought back to tie at 4. Unfortunately, they would give up the go-ahead goal with under a minute left in the second, and even then, it felt like the Jackets weren't out of it just yet. Adam Fantilli would tie the game at 5 with just under 6 minutes left to blow the roof off of NWA.
Johnny Gaudreau would take an unbelievable pass from Damon Severson off of a faceoff to put in an easy goal on Leafs goalie Ilya Samsonov. Samsonov attempted to make a save, but instead ended up flopping around and left the net wide open for Gaudreau to win the game. This marks the second time the Jackets have beaten the Leafs 6-5 this season.
Although the game wasn't perfect by any means, the Jackets showed guts against the Leafs. Pascal Vincent and Damon Severson both said this week that the CBJ have been playing passive, it sure didn't seem like they were playing passive on Friday night.
Cole Sillinger(4), Brendan Gaunce(1), Dmitri Voronkov(7), Kent Johnson(5), Adam Fantilli(10), and Johnny Gaudreau(5) were the goal scorers for Columbus.
