Gavin Brindley's Season Comes To An End With A Shutout Loss To Boston College In The Frozen Four

The University of Michigan Hockey team's season came to an end last night with a loss to Boston College in the Frozen Four. The final score was 4-0.

Michigan finishes the season with a record of 23-15-3. The shutout loss against BC was the first time that UM had been held scoreless in 73 games.

Brindley finished his season with 25 goals and 53 points. His 25 goals were second in the Big Ten to his teammate Dylan Duke, who had 26. Brindley's 53 points led the Big Ten, one ahead of his teammate Rutger McGroarty. His 25 goals tied fellow 2023 draft pick Will Smith for 6th in the nation, and his 53 points were 8th in the country.

Gavin Brindley now has an important decision to make, and that's whether to go pro or not. Sources told THN Columbus back in early February that he planned to stay in school for another year. Recent reports have seemed to indicate that he will stay in school, but like anything with young adults, he very could change his mind daily.

Brindley seems to have been an absolute steal for the Columbus Blue Jackets, who took him in the second round of the 2023 draft. Regardless of whether he decides to turn pro or not, the Jackets have a gem who will get to play with his good friend Adam Fantilli soon or later. Cleveland Monsters fans are hoping he turns pro and helps them with their Calder run, but it doesn't seem to be the case, at least for now.

What's Next - Columbus will play their last road game of the season in Nashville on Saturday night.
