Insider Elliotte Friedman Provides Kirill Marchenko News

Insider Elliotte Friedman has just put out a post on X that says the Columbus Blue Jackets are in "deep discussions" about a deal that would send disgruntled CBJ forward Kirill Marchenko to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Speculation has been running wild since Kevin Weekes broke the news at the draft that Marchenko was going to refuse to sign an extension with Columbus. 

TSN's Chris Johnson confirmed the news, saying that there is no extension in place, but talks are expected to pick up today. 

What would a return be for Columbus? If it doesn't include Matthew Knies or Easton Cowan, I'm not sure Don Waddell would be up for it.
