Jackets take on the Blues at NWA
The Blue Jackets will be icing a predominately NHL roster on Monday versus the St. Louis Blues. The goalies, however, will be the AHL goalies in Jet Greaves and Pavel Cajan. Tim Berni is also playing, he currently doesn't have a contract after turning down his qualifying offer. Berni will have a couple more chances to earn a contract from the Jackets. David Jiricek, who is pushing hard to make the club, will also get another look.
The lineup will be heavy, very heavy. Dmitri Voronkov who is 240 pounds, and Mathieu Olivier who is listed at 222 pounds will both be playing. Tack on David Jiricek, Kirill Marchenko, and Sean Kuraly and the Jackets could be throwing a ton of hits against a Blues team that historically likes to do the same.
The Blue Jackets sit 1-3 so far in the preseason. with four games left. They begin a stretch where they will play four games in six days, ending on Saturday on the road vs. Washington. After that game in Washington, the regular season starts the following week.
