Jackets Lose to Kings 4-3 in OT

The Jackets jumped out early with a power-play goal 9 minutes in, scored by Kirill Marchenko, his 8th assisted by Adam Boqvist and Johnny Gaudreau.

The second period saw the Jackets extend their lead to 3-0 on a pair of goals. Johnny Gaudreau scored his 4th goal of the season on a breakaway to beat Phoenix Copley. Thirteen minutes into the second, Mathieu Olivier scored his first goal of the season to push the lead to 3-0. The Jackets looked to be in control, but history is not on the Blue Jackets side this season.

In the third period, the Kings came out swinging. Twenty-three seconds into the third, Matt Roy sent in a shot from the blue line that was tipped and in by Phillip Danault. Five minutes later Danault would score his second to make it 3-2. And then 1:30 after the second goal, Arthur Kaliyev would tie at three. And with that, the comeback was complete. The Jackets were completely overwhelmed in the third but held on to send it to overtime.

Drew Doughty would score on the only shot in OT to win the game 4-3. The CBJ would fail to record a shot in the overtime period. The Kings have now won their first 10 games on the road to start the season.
