Jackets Development Coach Derek Dorsett Resigns

Aaron Portzline of The Athletic has reported that CBJ Development Coach Derek Dorsett has resigned from his position and has left the team. He was promoted as a full-time development coach on Sept. 20, 2021.

Dorsett, a native of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, retired from the NHL on November 30, 2017, after having neck surgery and herniated discs.

He played 280 games for the Blue Jackets over 5 years. Dorsett scored 27 goals and totaled 65 points. He also accumulated 727 penalty minutes which is third in franchise history.

THN Columbus has reached out to the team for more info.
