The Jackets battle the Caps
Blue Jacket fans get to watch Alex Ovechkin tonight, and although any goals he scores won't count towards his record chase, it's always fun to watch him play.
The Jackets will be sending out a roster that will consist of a lot of players that are playing one last time before cuts are made. On the defensive side, only Adam Boqvist is safe, while the rest of the defense could end up in Cleveland except for Denton Mateychuk.
On the offensive side, only Jack Roslovic and Mathieu Olivier are locks, the rest, including Dmitri Vorokov should be sent to Cleveland, or released.
We'll get our first look at Spencer Martin tonight, picked up off of waivers from the Vancouver Canucks last week. If Daniil Tarasov can't be ready for the season, expect Martin to be Merzlikin's backup.
News
The Jackets have announced before game time that Corson Ceulemans and Stanislav Svozil have been loaned to Cleveland. Also, goalie Pavel Cajan has been returned to Cleveland as well. Meanwhile, Tim Berni and Aaron Dell have been released from their tryout contracts. Berni had been hoping to get a new contract after turning down his qualifying offer earlier this summer.
Puck Drop is at 7 p.m. tonight.
