When Travis Konecny scored his second goal to make it 2-0 Philly early in the third period, to be honest, it felt like a backbreaker. The game was not going the Jacket's way at all to that point. The Flyers aggressive PK had killed all of the CBJ power plays as well, so it felt like it was going to be another rough night.
But the Jackets refused to quit. Damon Severson, who had an excellent night defensively, let a shot rip that beat Flyers goalie Ersson to make it 2-1 with just under 15 minutes to play. And then with 10 minutes to go in the game, Jack Roslovic let a shot go that was tipped by Jake Bean and passed Ersson to tie it at 2. I'm not even sure Jake Bean knew what he was doing, but it worked. Regulation would end with the game tied and after a lot of back-and-forth action in the OT period, they were off to a shootout.
Daniil Tarasov would shut down all three Flyer attempts, and Johnny Gaudreau would bury the game-winner for the CBJ on their first try to send the Jackets home with a rare 3-2 road win.
