Davidson was asked to address the Kent Johnson situation today on The Fan. Davidson was asked, "What does Johnson need the most?" Davidson responded, "He just needs to play, enjoy playing, we may try him at center ice a little bit in Cleveland." He goes on "He's way up on our list as far as our future goes, so we no have problems with the road you take to get to where you want to get to. Sometimes there's potholes and bumps." "I know how it feels, but he's just got to keep going, we love the kid and he's going to be with us," Davidson says.

Fans, as well as some media, take him being sent down to the AHL as a sign that they have given up on the young Johnson. But most people see this as a path, just like Davidson described, for him to get better. Since going down to Cleveland Johnson has 3 points in two games. In interviews, it's clear he was disappointed but was saying the right things. He may only need a few weeks to get himself together though. Kent Johnson will be back in Columbus and will be better when he returns. Sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge in the right direction.
