Johnny Gaudreau Leaves Game After Massive Hit, Thankfully Returns As Team USA Loses To Slovakia In OT At The World Championships
Team USA took a loss today to Slovakia in the IIHF World Championships, losing 5-4 in OT. The USA is now 1-1-1 for the tournament with 4 points.
The story for Columbus Blue Jackets fans is Johnny Gaudreau. Gaudreau took a pretty big hit and looked to be sent to concussion protocol. Luckily for him and his team, he only missed a few minutes and was back on the bench.
Gaudreau did get an assist on the Matt Boldy goal in the second period, but that would be all he could muster.
Fellow Jacket Zach Werenski was held off of the scoreboard in this game.
The USA will play France on May 16th.
