Former Columbus and Cleveland winger Joona Luoto has signed in Switzerland with SC Bern of the Swiss League.
Per reports out of Finland, the contract will be valid until November, and then the team will evaluate the contract and decide if he deserves to be extended until the end of the season.
Luoto, a Tampere, Finland native, appeared in only seven games for Columbus last season, scoring one goal. He spent the bulk of the year in Cleveland with the Monsters, where he played 45 games. Luoto would go on to score 14 goals and total 25 points.
With the log jam of high-end prospects in the CBJ organization, this comes as no surprise.
