Dante Fabbro(8), Kent Johnson(24), and Adam Fantilli(30) scored the goals for Columbus, while Jet Greaves absolutely dominated in the net to beat the Flyers 3-0 and survive another day in the playoff race.
The Jackets needed a win to give them a chance when the Montreal Canadiens play the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night, and Jet Greaves gave them that chance.
Stopping all 29 shots he faced, he put the CBJ in a position to win. The rest of the team did their job, and did it fairly well. Greaves, however, is on another level right now.
He's won his last four games, posted two shutouts, and has only allowed three goals in four games. He also has a .978 SV% since his call-up last week. It's safe to say the CBJ wouldn't be battling for the last playoff spot without Jet Greaves.
Even with all that, the last playoff spot is still out of their control. If Montreal wins or goes into OT, the Jackets are out before they take the ice on Thursday. If the Habs happen to lose in regulation, the Jackets will play the New York Islanders on Thursday at Nationwide Arena for a chance to get into the playoffs.
It's safe to say that every single person in Columbus will be rooting for the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
