    The Metro is being predictable

A few days before the start of the season, we let an AI learning model named KEVIN predict how the Metropolitan Division would shake out. And after two weeks, the Metro is playing out exactly how most people thought it would.

The New York Rangers are on a five-game winning streak, which propelled them to the top. The New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes are both in hot pursuit of the Rangers and have won a couple straight. The New York Islanders are somewhere in the middle like always. The Washington Capitals are also on a 3-game-winning streak, seeing Alex Ovechkin finally score to continue his chase of becoming the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer. Finally, the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and CBJ have all lost 2 straight in regulation. The Jackets have lost 4 straight games in total, counting the 2 OT losses. The Metropolitan Meat Grinder is off and running.

Columbus has played some decent hockey at times this season but is exactly where most people thought they would be. The last few games specifically against the New York Islanders and Dallas Stars have not ended well. They had a favorable home schedule in October but went 2-3-1. The November schedule, which starts Thursday at home vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning, is about to get brutal.

Jackets fans won't see their team play again on a Friday until December 1st and on a Saturday until December 16th. They will get a Sunday game on December 10th however. In November, they get zero home games on weekend days. All home games will be played Monday through Thursday. There will be lots of back and forth between home ice and being on the road in November. All road games will be back-to-backs. Not all of them will be back-to-back nights, just back-to-back road games. Honestly, It's a wacky schedule for November.
