The Blue Jackets have announced the emergency recall of Mikael Pyyhtiä from the Cleveland Monsters.
Pyyhtiä has played in 57 games for Cleveland this season, scoring 7 goals and adding 20 assists.
He played in 2 NHL games last season, the final two games of the season for the Blue Jackets, and tallied 1 assist.
His recall comes as the Jackets are again being slammed by injuries. Sean Kuraly is out week to week, Yegor Chinakhov is day to day, and Kirill Marchenko is still out sick. Not to mention all the players that are on IR already.
The Jackets cannot catch a break when it comes to illness and injuries.
What's Next - The Jackets are back home for a game against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.
