Dante Fabbro(1) scored the only goal of the game for the Jackets, and Daniil Tarasov stopped 25 of 30 Habs shots in a lopsided game at the Bell Centre.
The Canadiens' Nick Suzuki scored the game-winner in the second period after Fabbro tied it at 1, and never looked back.
In the third, Montréal would score three goals in just under five minutes to put the nail in the CBJ coffin on Saturday.
This game was ugly. The Jackets had 18 giveaways and every time the Canadiens scored, it seemed to be due to a turnover. Six different players had at least 2 giveaways on the night. Jordan Harris was the only Blue Jackets defenseman to not record a giveaway.
Dean Evason said after the game, "We've had enough learning experiences at this point to understand how we need to play in order to have success. We saw it last night, what we did in the third period, and we can't repeat it."
