Last season when then Head Coach Bran Larsen had to be away from the team sick, Pascal Vincent took over and immediately tried Patrik Laine at center. The results were fairly positive as Laine registered a few assists and seemed to play the position well.
Vincent continues to say that the Laine wants to play center, or at least fill in when needed. Well tonight, that experiment continues in game action against the Blues.
Laine, Jenner, Sillinger, and Sean Kuraly will be the centers tonight. And with Laine centering Kirill Marchenko and Johnny Gaudreau, we could be watching what will be the top line come opening night if Laine plays well.
Would Pascal Vincent dare start Patrik Laine as the top center come opening night? Or is this just in-game practice for Laine to gain experience is needed?
This should be fun to watch.
