The 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast, based out of Alberta, Canada, has announced a new award in the names of Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau.
"The John & Matthew Gaudreau Minor Hockey Award was created to honor and celebrate the lives of John and Matthew Gaudreau, not only as exceptional hockey players, but as tremendous human beings whose impact was felt both on the ice and within the communities they played in and called home," according to the podcast.
"We are incredibly grateful, excited, and truly blessed that Meredith Gaudreau and Madeline Gaudreau have given us the opportunity to share this meaningful award with young athletes who play our great game," says the podcast.

"Each year, one minor hockey player from Canada and one minor hockey player from the United States will be selected as recipients of this award. There will be six total nominees (three from Canada and three from the United States)."
"Thank you to Meredith & Madeline Gaudreau for allowing us to honour and remember both John and Matthew with this award."
"We are grateful and thankful we can continue to support what John and Matthew meant to the hockey community, along with supporting the beautiful opportunity that The John and Matthew Foundation can do going forward."

Voting will take place from March 15 to March 31, with the award winners announced on April 10.
Each winner will receive:
•A brand-new hockey stick of their choice
•A custom award plaque with their name
•A $1,321.00 donation toward their college tuition
In addition, with the support of our sponsors, we will be making two $1,321.00 donations to the John & Matthew Gaudreau Foundation.
