Ohio State Women's Hockey Team Has 8 Players Drafted Into The PWHL

OSU Women's Ice Hockey Coach Nadine Muzerall has turned her program into a wagon.

Winners of two of the last three NCAA Women's Frozen Fours, and runners-up in another, it's clear around Columbus who the best hockey team in the city is, college or not.

Yesterday, the PWHL Draft was held in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and the Buckeyes showed why they're on top. A total of 8 women from OSU were drafted. Colgate was the next closest with 5 players chosen.

The players selected from Ohio State in the 2024 PWHL Draft were:

Forward Hannah Bilka led the way for Ohio State with her 22 goals and 48 points. While Jennifer Gardiner, also a forward led the team with 27 assists and 45 points. Goalie Raygan Kirk had a record of 22-2, with 10 shutouts, a save % of .945, and a GAA of 1.05.

The Buckeyes will have to replace a lot of production, but soon-to-be Sophomore Joy Dunne, brother of Columbus Blue Jackets prospect, and current Cleveland Monster Josh Dunne, will play a huge part in the program's future. As a freshman, Dunne led the team with 24 goals and scored the game-winner in the NCAA Championship game against Wisconsin. Scoring goals in key games seems to run in the Dunne family. Josh Dunne is the leading goal scorer for the Monsters in their Calder Cup playoff run, with 7 in 13 games. He also scored the tying goal to force OT in game 6 of the AHL's Eastern Conference Finals last night in Hershey.

Former Buckeye Emma Maltais is up for the 2023-24 Rookie Of The Year Award as well.

Congratulations to all of the Buckeye Women selected in the 2024 PWHL Draft.
