The signing came nine days after Johnny Gaudreau signed in Columbus
One year ago today Patrik Laine signed his 4 year contract with the CBJ. His deal runs thru 2026 and carries a $8.7 million cap hit.
Last season despite some injuries, he was on just about a point per game pace. In 55 games played, he scored 22 goals and had 52 points. Late in the season he even tried his hand at playing center, and did it well actually.
Fans are very excited to see how he performs this season. He very well could be on a line with newly drafted Adam Fantilli and that excites people. What could Patrik Laine do with a highly skilled, playmaking center? What if the top line consists of Laine-Fantilli-Gaudreau?
