Special Teams Play
The Jackets had three powerplays last night and didn't score. The CBJ PK killed all three Islanders powerplay tries last night. Spencer Martin made 7 saves on the 3 NYI powerplays. The Jackets managed only 5 shots on their 3 powerplay attempts.
Reactions
The Blue Jackets penalty kill continues to play well, shutting down all three NYI PPs. Despite the score, Spencer Martin played very well last night. The game could've been a lot worse if not for him. Martin finished with a .939% and made 31 saves.
There weren't many CBJ forwards that stood out against the Islanders. The one stand out would be Johnny Gaudreau, but for the wrong reasons. Gaudreau was held shotless last night after leading the team in shots through the first seven games.
The Jackets need to forget about this one quick, they travel to Dallas on Monday to take on the Stars.
