The Columbus Blue Jackets were out of this game before the fans even got to their seats at Capital One Arena.

The Columbus Blue Jackets Outlook and Success

Damon Severson(3) and Kevin Labanc(1) scored the only goals for the Jackets, and Daniil Tarasov made 15 saves in the Columbus loss to Washington on Saturday.

There isn't much to talk about regarding this game. The Capitals destroyed the Jackets 7-2 at Capital One Arena in a loss that has to sting for the boys in blue.

Usually, if you were to read the game stats and see that a goalie made 15 saves total for a game, you would think it was an easy win, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The Caps scored two goals in the first 1:42 to pretty much end it before it started.

Alex Ovechkin scored his 859th NHL goal to move him closer to the all-time goal record. He also had two assists on the night. He now has 859 goals and 1563 points.

Coach Dean Evason said after the game, "When you get down early, then all of a sudden you think you gotta open it up, and you gotta be a little more offensive and try to score goals as opposed to staying sound and simple. We got away from playing proper and right and structured and all that good stuff."
