Patrik Laine Has Been Traded To The Montréal Canadiens

Per Elliotte Friedman and the Blue Jackets, Patrik Laine has been traded to the Montréal Canadiens.
He along with a 2026 second-round pick goes to Montréal for defenseman Jordan Harris.
Harris has played 131 games for the Habs and has 32 career points. He was drafted in 2018 as the 71st overall pick.
The Patrik Laine saga has officially ended. He played in 174 games for the Blue Jackets and totaled 138 points.
Don Waddell said in a statement, "We want players that want to be Blue Jackets and Patrik made it clear that he thought a change of scenery was best for him," said Waddell. "We were able to acquire a good young player in Jordan Harris while maintaining financial flexibility in this deal which was very important to us. We wish Patrik all the best.”
The fact that the Jackets retained no salary in this deal is a major win for GM Don Waddell. Massive win!
