Penguins Bust Out Of A Slump, Continue To Abuse Columbus at PPG Paints Arena

Death, Taxes, and the Columbus Blue Jackets losing in Pittsburgh.

If the Penguins need to bust out of a slump, they just need to play the Blue Jackets. Home, away, it doesn't seem to matter anymore, they can't get it done.

Johhny Gaudreau(10), Andrew Peeke(1), and Jack Roslovic(5-SHG) all scored for the Jackets. But, when they needed some offense to try to come back it just wasn't there. After Roslovic tied it at three with twelve minutes to play, the Pens scored twice in the next 109 seconds to take a 5-3 lead and put the Jackets away.

Columbus is now 4-17-5 all-time in Pittsburgh. Atrocious.

To top off a disappointing night, Kirill Marchenko was scratched in favor of letting Andrew Peeke play in a 7D role. Now don't get me wrong, Andrew Peeke had a heck of a night offensively, but Marchenko would've at least given them some offensive chance at the end when they absolutely needed it. Pascal Vincent chose to instead put Marchenko in the pressbox to watch.

Jet Greaves allowed five goals, but two of those weren't his fault, as Erik Gudbranson tried to clear the puck from behind the cage it ended up deflecting into the net. The second one went in off of Andrew Peeke. Both of those were power-play goals.
