

The Atheltic's Aaron Portzline reported today that Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Denton Mateychuk is expected to join the Cleveland Monsters ahead of game three of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Hershey Bears.
Mateychuk, who is a finalist for the CHL Defenseman of the Year award, had a monster year for Moose Jaw. He had 75 points in 52 regular season games, which included 17 goals. In the WHL playoffs, he had 11 goals and 30 points and won the WHL playoffs MVP.
The 19-year-old is projected to be a star for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the near future, joining David Jiricek, Stanislav Svozil, and Corson Ceulemans as the top prospects.
Mateychuk signed a 3-year, $5,100,000 contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jul. 13, 2022.
