The 2024-25 NHL season is half over, with many teams having reached the halfway point in the last few days. And more importantly for Columbus Blue Jackets fans, the CBJ are NOT on the list this time.
Most people only look at the top of the standings, but let's take a look at the teams who are in the running for the top spot in next year's draft.
Welcome to the NHL's Reverse Power Rankings.
The Blue Jackets are currently 18-17-6 with 42 points and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. After last night's win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, they're also now in the wild card two spot.
Despite not being in the top 10 of this week's Reverse Power Rankings, only two points are separating 17th and 23rd in the standings, so getting every point is of utmost importance.
The Jackets play some beatable teams in the next stretch of games, so they have to keep playing well, especially on the road.
What's Next - The Jackets are back home on Thursday to welcome in the Seattle Kraken.
