According to multiple reports, The Columbus Blue Jackets will re-sign head coach Rock Bowness to a new contract. The deal is for next season.
Elliotte Friedman and Pierre LeBrun have both said that the CBJ and Bowness have agreed to a new deal.
GM Don Waddell and Rick Bowness will speak at 2 PM, where the announcement is expected.
Bowness led the Jackets after Dean Evason was let go in January. After being at the bottom of the Eastern conference, he managed to get the team to as high as 2nd in Metro before failing late in the season, finishing 5th in the Metro.
He led Columbus to a 21-11-5 record after he took over.
Much has been said about his post-game rant after the final game of the season. Some people, well, most people agreed with his assessment of how the team played, and the culture of the team. The players agreed with his passion, but not all agreed with his delivery, which is fair.
