The Columbus Blue Jackets haven't had to scoreboard-watch in March and April in a few years, but here we are.

Going into Thursday's games, the CBJ sits with 73 points, two points behind the Montréal Canadiens for the second wild card. Columbus is also six points behind the Ottawa Senators for the first wild card. As a reminder, the CBJ and Sens play three times in less than two weeks. So, if the Jackets can win some games, well, anything can happen.

    Tonight's Games That Matter:

Ottawa Senators(79) vs. Detroit Red Wings(72) - Ottawa holds the first wild card spot, while the Red Wings sit just one point behind the CBJ. This one is tricky, but I'd rather have the Senators win this one.

Montréal Canadiens(75) vs Philadelphia Flyers(65) - The Flyers are out of the mix but may get a boost tonight. It was announced on Thursday that the Flyers fired HC John Tortorella, so will they get a quick coach change bump? Columbus fans will be rooting hard for the Flyers tonight.

Pittsburgh Penguins(69) vs. Buffalo Sabres(64) - Many people think the Pens are out of it, but don't count them out just yet. If you think Sidney Crosby is just going to let his team go down without a fight, you haven't been watching. There's still an outside shot for the Penguins, but Columbus (as usual) will be rooting hard against Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Up Next: The Vancouver Canucks visit Columbus on Friday.
