The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they've re-signed forward Yegor Chinakhov for the next two seasons. Per PuckPedia, the contract comes with a $2.1 million cap hit, but more importantly, he will be a restricted free agent after the two years.
Chinakhov had a career year last season despite only playing in 53 games. He scored 16 goals and 29 points and consistently had the hardest shot on the team.
Chinakhov's injuries are the thing most people are worried about, so this next season, he will be expected to play in a full season for the first time in his short career. He could easily score 25-30 goals next season.
