With the Stanley Cup Final starting tonight, many Blue Jacket fans will follow it closely, but not for all the same reasons.
Many people who follow Columbus refuse to not root for Sergei Bobrovsky—instead choosing to let bygones be bygones. 2019 seems like an eternity ago and what's the point of holding a grudge for so long? After all, he won 213 games as a Blue Jacket and put the team on his back most nights.
Others do not want to see him win at all. Bobrovsky getting to the Cup Final and losing is exactly what his critics want. They will remind you that he asked out of Columbus, refused to waive his no-trade clause, got suspended, and generally became a pain for the Columbus front office in his last season with the Blue Jackets.
There is a third group of people who just want to see Edmonton lose though, even if that means Sergei Bobrovsky hoisting the cup in the end. The Oilers having the two best players in the world on their team seem to rub people the wrong way. And some, want to see the Canadian Cup drought continue.
Where do you stand on the topic and Sergei Bobrovsky and the potential of him finally guiding his team to a championship? Getting back-to-back chances is a rare thing, and he's taken his team to the Final twice now. Is this his chance to silence his doubters? Can he slow Edmonton down enough, or will "Playoff Bob" rear its ugly head?
Wherever you stand on the issue, this should be a great series to watch.
