Hey CBJ fans! I'm Jason Newland, and this is The Hockey News.

I've been a fan of hockey for 25 years or so. But back in 2000, when Columbus was awarded an NHL team, my hockey fandom went to another level.

I've had the privilege of writing for a few different sites over the last 10 years. From my personal blog site firethecannon.com to a now defunct hockey site out of Montreal. The latter, provided me with media credentials, gaining me a different perspective being in the press box, and in the locker room post game, as well as the post game pressers.

I covered the team for that defunct site for 1 season, but continued to write for my site, providing opinions and team information. Since 2016, I've been wanting to get back into this business. I used Twitter to express opinions and just have some fun with the awesome CBJ twitter community. That fun led to this opportunity.

When I was approached about helping to start the new Blue Jackets team site for THN, I was extremely excited. And then nervous, and then excited again. But decided that I would take a swing.

What can you expect from the THN Blue Jackets site? My plan is to bring you content in a few different ways. I will share my opinions, perspectives and give facts. I want to keep you as up to date as possible on everything going on with the Blue Jackets. The Hockey News is a great source for NHL information and I want to keep it that way.

The Blue Jackets are in the middle of an exciting time of their history, and being a part of it is going to be fun. I can't wait to share this ride with CBJ fans.
