Per Shumi Babaev on X, his client, Yegor Chinakhov has reauested a trade out of Columbus.

Through his agent on X, Chinakhov says, "I had some misunderstandings with the coach during the season. Now I would be glad to have a trade. I would like to move to a different location. Will I return to Russia? As long as I can play in the NHL, I will keep developing here."

Per a Russian language website, Chinakhov said the following about having a misunderstanding with Dean Evason: "It all started when, after the surgery, I was prescribed 10 days of light training, recovery, and the pool. I started training right away. Everything was fine, nothing hurt. After a break, I was put in the first game, although I was supposed to come out for the third. The coach said not to worry about mistakes, just play. I understood that I hadn’t played for a long time, so I agreed. There weren’t many mistakes, we then watched the video. Yes, there were some in the game, but they weren’t critical. The coach said that everything was fine, play. Then he suddenly sat me down. He said that an assistant would explain the reason. The assistant showed a video with moments of the game, and I didn’t understand what was going on."

He went on to say, "The most interesting thing is that at the end of the year, even at a meeting, everyone was called, but there were no questions for me. I mostly talked to the assistants because the head coach said, 'The assistants will explain everything to you.'  But they don’t explain anything."

Babaev tells THN-Columbus that Chinakhov "didn't ask for anything officially. He just shared his thoughts and emotions."

Chinakhov has played 175 games with Columbus and has 71 points. His specialty in his lethal shot and scoring ability, but he has missed tons of games since he was drafted due to injury.

After coming back from a back injury last season, he was put back into the lineup, but was then healthy scratched down the stretch.

Will he remain a Blue Jacket, or will the draft pick no one had heard of at the time be on his way to another team?

We've asked Babaev for clarification and will let you know if he responds.

    Stay Tuned.
