The Columbus Blue Jackets cannot seem to get out of their own way when it comes to injuries.
Budding superstar winger Yegor Chinakhov was taken today for X-rays according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.
Chinakhov was able to play 19:48 of ice time and score a goal, so hopefully this is precautionary.
Through four games, Chinakhov is out to a hot start. He has 2 goals and 6 points and has a plus-5 rating. He also has 13 shots on goal.
Kent Johnson also went down last night after colliding with teammate James van Riemsdyk. After the game, HC Evason said it didn't look good for the young winger. Johnson only played 6:26 in the game against Buffalo before going down. He has 5 points in 3-plus games so far this season.
On Tuesday night, Erik Gudbranson also collided with a teammate and fell awkwardly to the ice. He was seen last night in a sling during pregame festivities. He's expected to be out long-term and it's assumed it's a shoulder injury.
What's Next - Columbus is back home on Saturday to finish the season series with the Minnesota Wild.
