Zach Werenski appeared on Rothman & Ice to talk about his team, injuries, and much more.
Werenski was asked right off the bat his opinion on how the injury happened, and whether or not Ondrej Palat intended to injure him. Werenski says "I think it's just one of those plays where he's probably trying to stop me from going the other way or making a play. I don't think there was any ill intent from him." "A little unfortunate on my end with how it all shook out," he says. He reiterated that he didn't think Palat was trying to do anything bad, but was just trying to slow him down. He goes on to say that he's hoping the injury only sidelines him for four weeks, but this injury is a "tricky one".
He was then asked about whether or not the team still believes in HC Pascal Vincent. "Yeah, big time! I think he's done a great job this year. It's really people and fans that look at it from the outside that don't really get an everyday look at our conversations we have with him, our team meetings, our video, the message he's preaching. I think he's getting through to all the guys," Werenski says.
He also talks about rookie David Jiricek, Michigan Football, how he rehabs from injuries, John Tortorella, and dogs. You can listen to the full interview below.
