Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski is considered a game-time decision for tonight's game against the Utah Hockey Club.
He told Aaron Portzline of The Athletic that he is leaning toward playing. However, things will be decided after his nap this afternoon.
Werenski appears hopeful to return to the lineup tonight. However, it still seems like his injury could keep him out another game.
Werenski has been very good when playing at home this season. He currently has a 19-game home point streak.
He also mentioned that his availability for the 4 Nations Face-Off, which starts next week, was a concern at first.
“It definitely crosses your mind when it’s that close to the tournament, but it’s more important that I’m here playing for Columbus. That’s my focus.”
Werenski suffered an upper-body injury during the Blue Jackets' 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Sunday but returned to the game. He was held out of Tuesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
