Zach Werenski & Johnny Gaudreau Have Officially Been Named To Team USA For The Upcoming IIHF Men’s World Championships

It's official! Zach Werenski and Johnny Gaudreau have been named as one of the first 15 players on the roster. Team USA announced the selections today. You can read the full announcement here

Both players have said publicly that they plan to play in the IIHF Men’s World Championships, but now it's real. Both also have plenty of international experience on a very stacked USA team.

The tournament will start on May 10th in Czechia in the cities of Ostrava and Prague, with training starting on May 5th.

Zach Werenski also has some international experience. He played on Team USA in the 2019 Worlds in which he played in two games and didn't register any points. He's played for the U20 twice, once in which he was a Captain, and also for the U17 team.

Zach Werenski: 19gp; 3g-9a-12 across all levels for the USA

Johnny Gaudreau has played for Team USA a few times. Four times in the World Championships, once in the World Cup, and once in the U20 World Juniors.

More hockey would be good for both of these guys, but especially Gaudreau. Maybe he'll get his touch back and bring some confidence into the 2024-25 season.
