Former Blue Jacket Liam Foudy Signs With The Metro Rival New York Islanders

Former CBJ first-round draft pick Liam Foudy is back in the Metro Division. The New York Islanders have signed the 24-year-old forward to a one-year, two-way contract.

Liam Foudy played 90 games in Union Blue, scoring 7 goals and totaling 19 points. Foudy, who was a star for the London Knights, never really caught on in Columbus. Instead, he spent the majority of his career playing in Cleveland in the AHL. In 41 games he had 35 total points.

After playing in 62 games during the 22-23 season and tallying 14 points, people thought maybe 2023-24 would be his breakout year. But, he could only get in one game as a Blue Jacket during the 23-24 season. Of his 90 career games playing for Columbus, 62 of those came in one season.

On October 20th, 2023, Foudy was finally put on waivers. He was claimed a day later by the Nashville Predators. He went on to play in only 12 games for the Preds and played the majority of the season for the AHLs Milwaukee Admirals. For Milwaukee, he played in 28 games and had 16 points. In 7 playoff games, however, he couldn't muster a single point.

After not being given a qualifying offer by the Nashville Predators, Foudy will go on to the Islanders organization and will most likely play for the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL.
