Matthew Knies has been impressive after two games.
New Columbus Blue Jackets forward Matthew Knies made his mark immediately after being traded from Toronto.
After scoring two goals and chipping in an assist, his opening night in Columbus tied a record for most points by a player in his CBJ debut.
Last night, the Blue Jackets had a tough night against the Utah Mammoth. But, Matthew Knies was able to contribute to the lone CBJ goal by making a beautiful outlet pass off the boards to spring Kent Johnson free for a breakaway goal.
Per CBJ PR, with the assist, he is the first player to record four points through his first two games with the Blue Jackets, beating the three points recorded seven times before. The most recent time three points had been recorded was Mason Marchment's 3 points from Dec. 20-22, 2025.
He's already beloved by the CBJ fanbase after just a few days, but if he can continue to show his value and put up points, he may become one of the most popular players in the franchise's history after just a one season.
Next Up For Columbus: The Blue Jackets take on the Pittsburgh Penguins next Friday at Nationwide Arena.
