Sean Monahan(4,5), Adam Fantilli(3), Cole Sillinger(2), Mathieu Olivier(4), and Mikael Pyyhtiä provided the offense in the blowout win of Edmonton. Elvis Merzļikins was stellar and stopped 31 of 32 Edmonton shots. The Oilers ruined his shutout bid with a power play goal with only 27 seconds left in the 6-1 CBJ win. Columbus has now won 5 of 6 at home against Edmonton, including four straight. The big story of the night for Edmonton was the loss of Connor McDavid to a lower-body injury. McDavid played just 37 seconds and would leave the game after falling into the boards. Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said after the game that he would be sent back home for evaluation.
