The Nashville Predators may be open to trading veteran forward Steven Stamkos, and reports suggest he has a few preferred destinations. Among them are his former team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Minnesota Wild, and notably the Dallas Stars. Stamkos is not actively requesting a trade, but his no-move clause allows him to have a say in where he could go if a deal happens.

Stamkos has been productive this season in Nashville, recording 29 goals and 16 assists in 58 games. At 36 years old, he still brings elite scoring and leadership, making him an attractive addition for any team chasing a deep playoff run. For Dallas, adding a player like Stamkos would require some cap maneuvering, possibly using long-term injury reserve to create space for his salary.

While a trade may not occur before the NHL deadline, the possibility of a summer move also looms, giving teams more flexibility. Nashville’s decision will balance between retaining a top veteran for the playoff push or leveraging him for assets to build for the future.

Stars fans, what do you think? Would Stamkos be a game-changing addition in Dallas, or is the cap and roster impact too risky? How would you feel about the team making a big move to bring in a player of his caliber?
