Dallas seeks redemption in a high-stakes rematch as Tyler Seguin stays hot and the Stars shuffle their lineup to break a deadlock against the shorthanded Avalanche.

On Wednesday, the Dallas Stars play the second leg of a home-and-home series against the Colorado Avalanche, looking to bounce back from a narrow 3-2 loss in the opener.

Both teams were missing key players in the first game with Wyatt Johnston sitting out for Dallas with an illness, while Colorado was without Cale Makar. Even so, several Stars delivered strong performances.

Tyler Seguin scored his second goal of the season and assisted on Dallas’ second goal for a multi-point night, and Miro Heiskanen also finished with two assists. Colorado was led by winger Martin Necas, who scored a pair of goals to put the Avalanche up 3-1, a lead they carried to the win.

Tuesday’s result evened the Avalanche’s record against the Stars over their last six meetings at three wins apiece, making Wednesday’s game the tiebreaker in the recent series.
