Dallas seeks a road sweep against a surging Columbus squad fresh off a dominant upset, testing their momentum before returning home for a critical four-game stretch.
On Thursday, the Dallas Stars hit the road for their final game before beginning an extended four-game homestand, heading to Columbus for an intriguing matchup against a Blue Jackets squad that could be more dangerous than their record might suggest.
Dallas enters the contest riding a wave of momentum, coming off impressive victories over the Washington Capitals and the Blue Jackets, whom they defeated on home ice this past Saturday when Columbus made its trip to Texas. However, the Jackets have responded in a big way since returning home.
After facing a heavily favoured Colorado Avalanche team, Columbus delivered a statement performance, pulling off an impressive upset with a commanding 7-2 victory over the reigning Presidents' Trophy winners. The Blue Jackets showcased plenty of offensive firepower and determination, and they'll look to carry that same energy into Thursday's rematch with Dallas.
The Stars have an opportunity to close out its road schedule on a positive note before returning home, but it will take a strong, complete effort to prevent Columbus from continuing its recent success in this matchup.
