Desperate for their first win, the goal-starved Stars look to Wyatt Johnston to spark the offense and snap a cold streak against a surging Sharks squad.

On Monday, the Dallas Stars return home searching for their first win of the season after dropping their first two games. Standing in their way is a San Jose Sharks team that has gotten off to a hot start.

Dallas is eager to start fresh after a disappointing end to last season, when the Minnesota Wild knocked them out in the first round and they failed to win a playoff series for the first time since 2022. The Sharks are the last team to beat them, in a meeting this past January, but that loss snapped a streak of eight consecutive Stars wins in the series.

The slow start has been most noticeable on offense as Dallas has managed just one goal through two games, and that came from defenseman Miro Heiskanen. No forward has found the back of the net yet, and the Stars hope to change that Monday.

Wyatt Johnston will be the player to watch for the Stars after regularly dominating this matchup with nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in his last eight games against San Jose.
