1. Matt Duchene continues to be one of the best free-agent signings of the offseason.
Matt Duchene is third on the team in points, just one behind Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski and is second in goals, only behind Pavelski.
The Nashville Predators bought out the final three years of Duchene's contract after he put up 56 points in 71 games. Despite many teams wanting to sign Duchene, the Dallas Stars were able to ink a one-year, $3M deal and it's worked out great for them.
2. 6-3-1 in the last 10 games.
The Stars have played three straight games that finished 4-3 in overtime, winning two of them and losing the other. The Stars have four more games to play in December to end off 2023.
The Stars are in a tight race for the Central Division lead with the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets. Based off points percentages the Stars hold the first-place spot.
3. Wyatt Johnston's scoring drought continues.
Johnston's current goalless drought has reached 12 games. His last goal came in a two-goal performance against the Calgary Flames on November 24th. Johnston has only been able to pick up four assists during this stretch of games.
Johnston's current goalless drought is the longest of his young NHL career. In his rookie campaign, he went ten games without a goal.
