Fans maintain faith in Dallas’s front office after a chaotic offseason of trade rumors and cap gymnastics, citing a decade of playoff stability and elite roster depth.
On Thursday, The Athletic's Dom Luszczyszyn released his annual survey grading the confidence NHL fans have in each team's front office.
Some results were predictable, with the Carolina Hurricanes topping the list after their Stanley Cup win, while the Detroit Red Wings landed all the way down at 30th after missing the playoffs for a tenth straight season and firing longtime general manager Steve Yzerman this offseason.
The Dallas Stars, on the other hand, delivered one of the more surprising results after enduring a turbulent summer. The organization navigated rigorous contract negotiations, vetoed trades and no shortage of financial gymnastics just to stay under the salary cap while remaining competitive heading into next season. Despite all of that, Dallas still landed in the top eight of the rankings.

That stability held even after an offseason full of headlines out of the Lone Star State. Dallas explored moving Thomas Harley in a deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets and reportedly discussed sending Jason Robertson to Toronto as part of a three-way trade that would have brought back Matthew Knies, moves that ruffled some feathers among fans before ultimately falling through.
