The Dallas Stars have been rapidly brought up when it's come to the Artemi Panarin sweepstakes but with new reports coming out, it appears their run for "the Breadman" is starting to look more and more unlikely.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman confirmed reports on Friday's episode of his podcast 32 Thoughts, that Panarin doesn't want to move twice and would like to be traded to a team with an extension.
This comes after reports that Panarin would be willing to move as a rental with Dallas being one of his desired locations if he was to move as a rental. Friedman noted he's heard several conflicting reports on the matter so to take all recent reports with a grain of salt.
As the conversation has shifted more to a focus on an extension, Friedman noted that the Stars are instead going to shift focus to trying to re-sign pending restricted free agent Jason Robertson firstly before making any big-time trades.

This likely rules the Stars out of any major trades around the deadline but they could still be in for small upgrades in their lineup like Calgary's Blake Coleman or Jason Robertson's brother Nick from Toronto.
