The Stars head to Detroit for a four-team round robin, testing top young talent against the Red Wings, Blue Jackets, and Penguins in an expanded prospect showcase.
The Dallas Stars have announced details for their participation in a prospect tournament that has recently been changing venues each season.

Sylvanie-USA TODAY SportsFormerly the annual tournament hosted by the Detroit Red Wings was held in the quait northern Michigan town of Traverse City, but with rising costs to get to the fairly isolated town, NHL teams slowly pulled out of the event until only Dallas and Detroit were left.
Last season was the first iteration since, with only the Red Wings and Stars playing a series of games at the Comerica Center in Frisco. Now, this season, the prospect games shift back to Michigan, with the event held at the BELFOR Training Center located inside the Red Wings Little Caesars Arena.
Different from the prior couple of seasons, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins will also join the event, with each squad playing a round robin schedule.
The Stars face off against the Red Wings Saturday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 pm and then play again at 3:30 pm the next afternoon against the Blue Jackets. The team will have a day off and finish at 10:30 am Tuesday against the Penguins.
The roster will have 12 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies.
