Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen was named to the EA Sports NHL 24 team of the year alongside Connor McDavid, Nathan Mackinnon, Matthew Tkachuk, Cale Makar and Linus Ullmark.
This the first time Heiskanen was been named to the team of the year. Heiskanen had a career year last season and also enjoyed a strong playoff run with the Stars. Heiskanen has four goals and 27 points in 37 games this season. Heiskanen is sixth in time on ice this season after finishing sixth last year as well.
Head coach Pete DeBoer announced Heiskanen will be week-to-week with an injury after colliding with goaltender Scott Wedgewood in last night's game against the Colorado Avalanche.
