Some notable names are playing, including Jamie Benn, Matt Duchene, Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen.

DALLAS - The Stars play their second preseason game on Tuesday night when they host the Wild at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. CT.

The contest marks the preseason debut for a host of players, including forwards Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, Matt Duchene, Tyler Seguin, Jason Robertson and Evgenii Dadonov, and defensemen Miro Heiskanen, Jani Hakanpää and Joel Hanley.

No doubt Duchene will receive a warm welcome from the crowd to mark his first appearance since signing a one-year contract in July.

Prospects Logan Stankoven and Mavrik Bourque get another look after standout performances in Sunday night’s 7-0 victory over the Coyotes at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, where the club opened training camp last week.

Stankoven scored twice, while Bourque picked up a pair of assists.

"Tonight’s going to be a different game than the other night. Most of Arizona's camp was in Australia. There’s more quality NHL players in the lineup. This is a better lineup that we’re playing, and I expect that the rest of the way. We got a little bit of a soft touch the other night. This is going to be a different test," said head coach Pete DeBoer, following the morning skate. "Both Bourque and Stankoven look like guys that could be better with better players, with more structure, because of the way they think the game and because of their skill. Sometimes, it’s easier to play at the NHL level just because of the execution level of the guys around you."

Scott Wedgewood and Christopher Gibson will be the goaltenders in uniform.

Wedgewood, 31, is eager to make the most of the opportunity.

"It’s been a good while since I started a game, and it's a lot of these guys’ first game of the year, too, so it's about getting the kinks out and touching the puck. For me, same thing, get some handles, get some shots on net and kind of figure out where you are," explained Wedgewood. "You’re not looking for perfection right now, you’re more just making sure that everything works, everything feels good, and then obviously get your head and your engine turned on and make sure that you’re getting ready to go here as it gets closer."

Fans in attendance can enjoy the newly installed state-of-the-art video scoreboard that measures 44 feet long, 31 feet wide and 26 feet high. New seats were installed as well.

The Stars also showcased some impressive upgrades to their locker room.

Talk about attention to detail...

"I think it created a new ambiance. It’s nice to see that we’re moving in a newer direction," said Robertson. "That’s where our team is moving to, improved and ready to be a contender this year, so they’re really spoiling us."

One quick note about the Wild.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury gets the starting nod.

This is the first of three preseason games that will be played in Dallas, along with matchups against the Avalanche (October 3) and the Blues (October 5).
