The Minnesota native fueled a dominant week in Dallas, surrendering a lone goal across three starts and anchoring a nearly 189-minute shutout streak for the white-hot Stars.

On Monday, the NHL announced its first stars of the week of the season, and there was little doubt Dallas Stars fans would see one of their own on the list with Goaltender Jake Oettinger landing in the second spot.

The 27-year-old Minnesota native, coming off one of the best seasons of his career, allowed just one goal over three starts, recording a pair of shutouts and making 59 saves.

Oettinger opened the week with a 13-save shutout of the San Jose Sharks in a 5-0 Stars victory on Monday. Three days later, he followed it with an even better performance, stopping 26 shots in a 4-0 rout of the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday. He closed out the week with another strong showing, allowing one goal and making 20 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Oettinger's shutout streak reportedly lasted nearly 189 minutes of game time and further backed what has been a white hot start to the season, which includes a 2-1-1 record, a 0.74 goals-against average and a .963 save percentage, perhaps the early makings of a Vezina-caliber campaign.
