
DALLAS - The Stars open their preseason schedule on Sunday afternoon with a matchup against the Coyotes at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Head coach Pete DeBoer and company have been stationed in the Austin suburb for a few days to open training camp.
DeBoer had previously confirmed that a lineup consisting primarily of prospects would play versus Arizona, so the likes of Mavrik Bourque, Logan Stankoven, Matej Blumel, Antonio Stranges and Lian Bichsel will get a chance to make a good impression.
Veteran defenseman Jordie Benn, who signed a professional tryout contract in late August, will also be in uniform. Newcomers Craig Smith and Sam Steel get the nod as well.
